"My goal is to empower people to be the best version of themselves"

Annette Newton

Registered Psychotherapist & Yoga Teacher

As a certified Healthcare Professional, I understand the weight and frustration of feeling like there is more out there for you, but not knowing where to turn to first. That’s why my mission is simple: give my clients the wellness education, tools and resources that they need to feel better, healthy, and capable of managing life.

My vision is to see everyone be empowered to live their best life! I learn about your unique emotional, physical and social experiences from birth.  My training enables me to take this and achieve a path for emotional regulation which is designed specifically for you. Your body and mind is a continuum of scientific matter that can be strengthened. Moving forward, and evolving is possible for everyone!

I am currently in the one year long Compassionate Inquiry Professional Training Program.  This is a graduate level trauma -informed psychotherapeutic approach developed by Gabor Mate.  I am a lifelong learner and grow to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

I offer both in-person as well as virtual therapy to meet each clients needs.

Let's walk the journey to optimal mental health together!

Early Life

Today

Passions

I am the youngest of 6 siblings who grew up in Windsor Ontario and was a National and Varsity Track and Field Athlete. At the age of 23 after moving to Toronto, I was diagnosed with Lupus. I am married for over 30 years and had my first daughter Allison in 1993, my second daughter Jillian in 1996, and in 1999 my third daughter Emily. I had no idea, how much this impacted my authentic passion while at the same time caused unconscious automatic reactions affecting my physical and emotional wellbeing.  This understanding and experience brought me to where I am today.

I am a married and work as a Psychotherapist and Nationally Certified Iyengar yoga teacher. Where are my children today – Allison married and is a Doctor of Chiropractic and has two children.  Jillian is married and a lawyer in Toronto and Emily is in a graduate of The Master of Translational Research fro the University of Toronto and works in branding and marketing.  They are the my inspiration for learning. I continue to understand that respect comes from connection, listening and allowing authenticity.

Helping individuals is my passion. I have experienced working with such a variety of  people and their unique circumstances. I listen and observe continuously.  As a Nationally Certified Iyengar teacher I am a teacher, student and forever learner. Using somatic experiences and working on what one thinks while physically noticing tension enables lightness and presence. "Where their is tension, pay attention." Creating both internal and external stability I aim to help individuals to then take these skills into their day to day lives and suffer less. We have all had some form of trauma. I give individuals the opportunity to experience conscious awareness, mentally clarity and create a safe place to meet in social connection to each other.   This is am passionate about !
